and specialisation in ophthalmology must be passed to the next generation in order to enable steady progress at an advanced level. One prerequisite for this is that knowledge gathered over many years is shared. This was the motivation behind establishing the Dr Silvia Bopp Foundation.<\/p><p>We have set ourselves the objective of supporting the basic and continuing education of tomorrow's ophthalmologists and encouraging them to specialise. This applies particularly to regions in which access to highly qualified ophthalmology is still limited. The Foundation and its bylaws were recognised in accordance with \u00a7 80 of the Civil Code in conjunction with \u00a7 4 of the Bremen Foundation Act. It is a charitable foundation. This entitles us to issue charitable donation certificates.<\/p><p>Chair of the Foundation Board is Dr Dorothee Lotz.
